Crystal Cantoran (any pronouns) is the Outreach Coordinator for the Wage Justice Center (WJC) and is currently pursuing a career in combating wage theft for low income/system impacted members of the community.
Prior to joining the WJC, Crystal worked with formerly incarcerated individuals readjusting to life post-incarceration by assisting them with finding sustainable and long-lasting careers. During this time, Crystal discovered a deep-rooted issue within the workforce system and decided to focus on combating wage theft for folks who had just been released from incarceration.
Prior to this, Crystal attended Long Beach City College and transferred to the University of California, Berkeley where she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Media/Marketing with a minor in Ethnic Studies. Crystal grew up in Southeast Los Angeles and has a deep love and respect for her community.
From a young age, Crystal has actively worked with other community members to bring forth change within the school district, policing, homelessness and the city as a whole. Crystal's work is deeply rooted in the collective liberation for all, which is the motivating force for all she does.
